Dear members,

I am honored to serve as your 2016-2017 SNAAz President.  You have elected a wonderful Board of Directors, who have wonderful ideas for this next year.

During the first meeting, The Board of Directors set statewide goals for this next year that require teamwork and involvement from the local chapters. I know Arizona has wonderful chapter Presidents who are already very involved.  Our main goal is to increase our membership by 200 as of February 1, 2017.

We also have created a SNAAz Tee Shirt Design Contest where the winning design will be recognized state wide at our Annual Convention in October 2017. There are many of opportunities for the student nurses of Arizona this upcoming year and we hope you are excited to be involved, with us.  If you are not currently a NSNA/SNAAz member please feel free to reach out to our Director of Membership.

SNAAz has one other main goal this next year, volunteering. We will be teaming up with local SNA chapters each month to provide community service and do what nurses do best, give to others.

For several years now we have directly worked with the Arizona Nurses Association, American Red Cross, NSNA and several other associations to provide you with current information regarding nursing, legislation and disaster preparedness.

Our board is  eager to provide valuable and helpful information for student nurses, as well as upcoming events and ways to get involved.

I encourage each and every one of you to become active with the Student Nurses’ Association whether on a local, state, or national level.

Michelle Taylor
