TOPIC: Increased student awareness of Volume-Based Feeding (VBF) protocols in intensive care unit (ICU) patients.
ABSTRACT: This resolution aims to increase awareness and improve education for the benefits of Nurse-driven volume-based feeding (VBF) protocol for enteral nutrition. Meeting nutritional goals for critical care patients is important to improve patient outcomes and reduce ICU stay length. With improved awareness of the VBF protocols, student nurses will be better prepared to assess and manage enteral nutrition needs for critical patients.
